OWNER TESTIMONIALS
The best of Depoe Bay.
“One of the reasons we became WorldMark owners was to have places we could go and share with others. For several years, we’ve ‘kidnapped’ our adult children and taken them on trips to different WorldMark resorts. We started at WorldMark Rancho Vistoso in Tucson, AZ, and the five of us have been to WorldMark Arrow Point in Harrison, ID; WorldMark Branson in Branson, MO; as well as WorldMark South Mountain Preserve in Phoenix, AZ. But the one experience that causes the most conversation when we all get together is our past stays at WorldMark Depoe Bay in Depoe Bay, OR.
The location is amazing — balanced on the edge of the Pacific Ocean with a grand vista of the water and the activity on it and in it. From our balcony, we watched fishing boats and crabbing crafts, big ships passing by in the distance, and up close we watched whales migrating and seals stretched out on the rocks below the resort.
We reserved a three bedroom suite. The parents stayed in the room with the king size bed, the ‘girls’ stayed in the room with the two twin beds, and the ‘guy’ had the room with the queen bed. Because it’s an easy walk to the downtown district of this small city (population 1,472), we ate out some and cooked some. The community is on a very small bay, the location of the Coast Guard station where the ‘Hole in the Wall’ gang hangs out.
We can find just about anything on the coast of Oregon. We’ve hiked, played on the beach and the ocean rocks, gone crabbing, and attended the city-wide salmon bake in the city park.
Heading south on Hwy. 101 can get us to Florence where there are dune buggies to ride on the sand dunes. On the way back, we can stop at Waldport and try to catch crabs from the local dock. Driving a bit farther north is Newport, the location of a world class aquarium and a local blown glass studio where we can try our skills blowing an ocean float. A ‘don’t-miss’ treat is the original Mo’s café with great chowders, plus then there’s the Old Town Newport to be explored. North of Depoe Bay is Lincoln City where we can play and eat at the casino. Just about anything we could dream of doing is within 75 miles.
WorldMark Depoe Bay is one location where the phrase ‘the world is your oyster’ truly applies.”
